My Brother and Brother in law are both hard rockers...both while not liking any of Prince's music agree he was a phenomenal guitar player and deserves to be talked about in the same breath as other 'greats'.

That was the 2004 induction of George Harrison into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
While My Guitar Gently Weeps played by Tom Petty (& some of the Heartbreakers), Jeff Lynne, Steve Winwood , Prince & George's son Dhani.

I've seen that clip, Prince surprised me as well.

As for the original, you can hear Clapton's distinctive guitar playing throughout the song.

I went on a tour in Mexico once and the guide asked me how people in the UK are taking George Harrison's death. I would have said most couldn't give a fuck but didn't want to offend him.

Nothing special. Probably millions more musically talented people in the world but in the right place at the right time.

Hardly Bowie was he.

Great guy, great song writer. His solo stuff is far superior to much of McCartney's twee rubbish.

Read that he gave some sound advice to Ure and Geldof regarding Band Aid after a lot of the money from his his own charity concert for Bangladesh "allegedly" didn't get to where it should have done and his advice helped them create the Band Aid Trust in 1985.
