My Brother and Brother in law are both hard rockers...both while not liking any of Prince's music agree he was a phenomenal guitar player and deserves to be talked about in the same breath as other 'greats'.

That was the 2004 induction of George Harrison into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. While My Guitar Gently Weeps played by Tom Petty (& some of the Heartbreakers), Jeff Lynne, Steve Winwood , Prince & George's son Dhani.

I've seen that clip, Prince surprised me as well.
As for the original, you can hear Clapton's distinctive guitar playing throughout the song.

Mallard I never knew that, have seen a YouTube video of a memorial concert for George where Prince comes on and plays a solo and its pretty good to be fair that guy could play a guitar

I went on a tour in Mexico once and the guide asked me how people in the UK are taking George Harrison's death. I would have said most couldn't give a fuck but didn't want to offend him.

Read that he gave some sound advice to Ure and Geldof regarding Band Aid after a lot of the money from his his own charity concert for Bangladesh "allegedly" didn't get to where it should have done and his advice helped them create the Band Aid Trust in 1985.
